Hi!  I'm Gary Johanson, proprietor of the Paper Wren.

Paper Wren Press is a one man / one press artisan letterpress shop located in Southwest Volusia County, Florida.  The goal of the Paper Wren is to celebrate the beauty and artisanal quality of traditional 18th, 19th and early 20th century letterpress printing.

As of the end of 2018, I have begun to focus on small book publication, releasing my first chapbook, "A Pocket Caroler" in October of that year.  At some point I hope to collaborate with local authors and poets in the publication of their work.  Find out more about the Paper Wren  by following my blog All Things Wireless & Letterpress.   Click here.

One of the unique features of the Paper Wren is that it is probably the only Letterpress Shop in the world that sports it's very own Amateur Radio Station, WD4NKA, sending both voice and international morse code around the world.  My growing focus is, consequently, developing traditional lines of Radio and Wireless Station ephemera and stationery, QSL cards, Radiogram forms, Code Copy forms, &c.  I have also produced Radio Artiststamps.  Radio is a unique and ultra niche market for which I am proud, as a radio operator and vintage radio restorer of over four decades, to have a voice.
